List: Favorite Films

RiddickI absolutely love lists. Making lists helps me to organize important things in my life, but they also help me unwind and have fun. Hear me out.

Being an active consumer of media of all types, I have always stumbled when asked, “What’s your favorite song?” or “What’s your favorite movie?” Ugh. I always just grumble non-committally something along the lines of, “Uhh..I have a lot of favorites..”

So, I recently took to task to make a list of my favorite films in an attempt to figure out..just what is my favorite?  Do I even have a favorite? After reviewing our film collection, without further ado…my favorite films, organized roughly into genres after the fact:

Series
The Chronicles of Riddick series
The Evil Dead series
The Lord of the Rings series
The Star Wars Saga
The Matrix Trilogy
The Harry Potter series
The Indiana Jones Series

Drama
The Prestige
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Pulp Fiction
Red Dragon
The Usual Suspects
Eastern Promises
Shutter Island
The Ghost Writer
Angels and Demons
There Will be Blood
Fargo
Frailty
Flight
Fallen

Action
Con Air
Face/Off
Skyfall

Musical
Grease
Velvet Goldmine
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Comedy
The Birdcage
The Fully Monty
The Grand Budapest Hotel

Animated
Fantasia

And there you have it! As far as my favorite – well, the list certainly helped me to narrow it down a bit. My top picks are The Prestige, Shutter Island, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

What about you? Do you have a definitive favorite film? If not, I encourage you to try a list! It was exceedingly helpful in my case.

Thanks for sticking around. Until next time!
